After some very tough decisions, we’re finally ready to announce my TOP 12 favorite images from this year!
I chose these images based on the following:
1. Do they evoke an emotional reaction?
2. Do they tell a story?
3. Difficulty of composition and lighting.
If you see yourself in the top 12, you’ll receive a $50 credit towards any photo shoot or product in 2013.
Our way of saying thank you for being such a wonderful ‘model’!
Comments are appreciated, as there’s a chance a few of these may be entered in a professional judging competition.
Since I had more than 50 images to choose from, I also want to share the “runners up”. Don’t forget to check them out too!

On a beautiful June day, we arrived at David Anthony Salon in Amherst for some fabulous getting ready candids. Some of the best story telling images happen in the salons, love the candid, relaxed, yet high anticipation moments! Katy is a classic beauty marrying her high school sweetheart. Jake is a dedicated Marine who loves his girl and his country. Their engagement session last summer had a vintage military theme in Little Italy…very classy and fun!
They picked a remarkable outdoor photo venue for the wedding too…Schoepfle Gardens. See below for all the vendor links and enjoy the photos!

The other day, a potential bride asked what I love most about weddings. I’m sure my off-the-cuff answer didn’t do justice to my mind & heart, so here’s my well-thought out answer.
Your wedding day is one of the most memorable milestones in your life. To be chosen as your photographer is one of the greatest honors! I get to be there from slipping on the dress to the grandpa’s rendition of the twist.
Telling your story through pictures is like Shakespeare’s role in Romeo & Juliet. There’s a love story to be told, and I get to write it. Your albums will be passed down to many generations. In a sense, our artistic vision makes a history impressing within your family. And family is the most important experience of humanity.

I’ve known this family since I was about five years old, so I was really looking forward to this wedding. Couldn’t wait to see the fall decorations and her mother’s wedding dress made into the ring pillows. To top it all off, guess who won the anniversary dance longest married couple….MY parents! Way to go, mom & dad. What’s your advice to the bride & groom? “Never go to bed mad and learn to say yes, honey”

Exciting ceremony with plenty of laughs! The priest sang Beyonce and quoted reality shows while the unity candles started a ribbon fire….Photographer/Firefighter, that’s me! St Adelbert Church was amazingly beautiful with an easy-going fun atmosphere.
I love how this was G’s first wedding she ever attended, and it was hers! They truly made it into their day: classy, fun and romantic all at the same time.
The next stop was Coe Lake in Berea. On a beautiful cloudy day…yes, clouds are very good for the camera, we went for a brisk walk down the bridge. This is one of my personal favorites….
The reception was at the Crowne Plaza, Middleburg Hts. The first thing I noticed was the cool purple/pink lighting all around the room…come to find out DJ Tony does this setup for them. The ambiance was definitely there!
Things got a little goofy fun by the end of the night. I almost lost my 2nd shooter, Katy, to the dance floor.

Congratulations to Bill & Mary! Having grown up a few streets apart, they had a lot of mutual friends but never quite started talking until one night at Johnny Malloy’s. Their engagement story was a spur of the moment surprise while waiting for a car repair. Love happens when you least expect it, right?
We arrived at the Annunciation Church in Cleveland Saturday afternoon. Despite the lack of A/C, this Greek Orthodox church was stunning inside. Father Dean was full of smiles and friendly assurance throughout the entire ceremony. Love it when the officiant is so open to us capturing the best pictures possible!
Just love this one! Generation beauties.
Classic black & white with a little creative spin.
These cupcakes were definitely delicious!
Brian at Blueprint Entertainment really got the crowd dancing. From Greek traditional dances to Footloose (my personal favorite). Couldn’t keep this little one off the dance floor….the next Shirley Temple?

Is rain really good luck on your wedding day? YES!
Amanda and John had double good luck as we had rain for the e-session and the wedding which resulted in some of my favorite images ever. We started at David Scott Salon & Spa at Great Northern Mall (happens to be the place I had my own bridal party go to back in 2002!)
The rain directed to an indoor location, Sullivan’s Irish Pub in Lakewood. The bartenders were cool enough to let me go behind the bar for a few pictures of the bridal party. We also decided to take advantage of a short dry spell and used the historic Lakewood streets for a few shots.
The reception at West Side Irish American Club was fun-filled with dancing start to finish. Excellent service and food (and chocolate covered strawberries)!
And that was one heck of a cake smashing!
